Looks pretty good, but I'd have to see what others got. Phil should do well this week with his two driver combo. Hitting fairways will be so crucial this week.
Just checked the leader board and have some bad news for you...
Toms +7 thru 11

I think I read that Lefty is ditching his long driver for the Open and carrying just the "control" club - the premium being on accuracy rather than distance at Winged Foot.

The 3rd cut on the rough is rumored to be 7 inches deep. :eyebrow:

When we had the Open in '97 they kept the rough up for the rest of the summer for fear of killing it if they took it down too quickly. It easily added 4+ strokes to my score and it was a couple of inches lower than the week of the Open.

Hey, how about the announcement that the Open's coming back to Merion in 2013? As a Philly area fan, I can say I'm pretty happy about that - will probably go to that one for my second US Open ever - went to Bethpage in '02.

Obviously a bit rusty - Eldrich is +5 after the outward 9.

Knew I shouldn't of gone with Tiger this go...
Seems most others had Tiger. Should've gone with my #2 man, Vijay!
Got Michael Campbell doing well thus far and Stuart Appleby as well...

Tiger is +3 so far today, putting him at +9 or tied for 109th place, OUCH!

Gil, I got first pick in our draft, and took Tiger. Big mistake.
Here's my team:
Tiger
Ernie Els
Fred Couples
Camilo Villegas
Mike Weir
Oh well, maybe next year.

Phil Mickelson pulled a monumental choke on the final hole in the U.S Open to lose it to Geoff Ogilvy.

Phil went for broke vs playing safe. Good lesson for us novice golfers. Had Olgivy and Mickelson, so I sould be okay in the pool. Total team money decides the winner.

Monty Choked, Phil Gambled and lost.
I don't think Monty choked, i think he screwed up by switching to the 7 iron. If he hits the 6 iron instead of the 7 he's on the green and makes par. The time he spent waiting around got him thinking too much. Phil choked by hitting a hospitality tent 100+ yards from the fairway and then trying two of the dumbest shots i've ever seen in golf.

Yeah, but WTF was that shot early on in the round where he was using a driver to get out of that deep gnarly stuff? Even as a 15 y/o learning the game I knew not to do that. The shot didn't even go three feet. THAT was the margin.

Phil's shots only look dumb if he does what he did. If he had hit a nice shot then people would be talking about what a great gamble he made.

As far as I'm concerned they both choked. But making double from the middle of the fairway is by FAR the bigger choke. Bad decisions all the way around.
