Southland Set For Relocation To Frisco, Texas
Dallas area-based organization since 1987 opens new HQ on July 1

FRISCO, Texas - The Southland Conference has announced its moving its headquarters office to Hall Office Park in Frisco, Texas, located in suburban north Dallas, on July 1. The Southland Conference Board of Directors approved the office move earlier this year.
The NCAA Division I athletics organization representing 12 universities in three states, was most recently housed in Plano, and has been located in the north Dallas area since the first league office was organized in 1987. The Southland will be leasing 3,726 square feet at 2600 Network Boulevard, a six-story, 150,000 square foot Class A office building that opened in April.
"We are anxiously awaiting our move to Frisco and Hall Office Park," said Southland Commissioner Tom Burnett. "The Frisco area is becoming the new crossroads of the north Dallas area, and the location works very well for our office staff, as well as our membership when they travel to the office for meetings."
In addition to housing the 10-member office staff, the new facility will also feature a conference room to accommodate many of the league's meetings. The Southland Hall of Honor will also be displayed in the new office.
In recent years, Frisco has become a retail and business hub for the area, and also serves as home to a number of sports organizations. The National Hockey League's Dallas Stars headquarter and train nearby at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter, Major League Soccer's FC Dallas plays its games at the state-of-the-art Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, and the Frisco Roughriders, the double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, play at nearby Dr. Pepper Ballpark, and are one of the most successful franchises in the Texas League. U.S. Youth Soccer, an organization that oversees the sport for over 3 million young players nationwide, is also headquartered in Frisco.
"Certainly, the placement of so many other sports organizations in Frisco was a key attraction in helping us decide where to place the office," Burnett added. "We look forward to becoming active with business, civic and government leaders, and hope to become a valuable addition to the Frisco business community."
"It is a pleasure to welcome a company with the Southland Conference's reputation and add their name to the growing roster of nationally and internationally recognized companies in Hall Office Park," said Mark Depker, executive vice president of Hall Financial Group. "We could not be more pleased with the overall momentum and leasing activity of the park. One of the strengths of Hall Office Park is the ability to offer Class A office space to both small and large users and accommodate their expansion as they prosper and grow." Jean Farris, director of leasing, handled negotiations on behalf of owner and landlord, Hall Financial Group. Ric Kanatzar with Studley represented the Southland Conference. Today, more than 131 companies with 3,800 employees call Hall Office Park home. Since ground was first broken in 1997, 11 architecturally distinct office buildings have been completed.
