I believe we beat the gophers in a recruit battle for the first time ever this year.
Prefered walkon to U of M vs Scholly at NDSU. The same recruit also had a offer from wyoming, but we have won that battle a few times before. Typically we have lost that battle in the past(vs UofM prefered walkon).

Here is Joe Mollberg a QB that both UND and NDSU wanted:
QB, 6-2, 195
Detroit Lakes, Minn. (Detroit Lakes H.S.)
High School Coach: Flint Motschenbacher
HIGH SCHOOL: Named first team All-Heart O'Lakes Conference, first team all-section and honorable mention all-state as a senior ... Minnesota Vikings All-Star team honoree ... Team Captain as a senior ... Finished career as the all-time career passing leader at Detroit Lakes and and top five in scoring ... Earned first team all-section honors and honorable mention all-state honors as a junior.
Head Coach Chris Mussman on Mollberg: "Joe is a kid that we have been recruiting for a long time. He is one of the top athletes in the state of Minnesota and we feel that he can come in here and really help our program. He is a very gifted athlete and we've had a lot of great kids come to us over the years out of Detroit Lakes. We couldn't be happier that he has chosen to attend the University of North Dakota."

We beat MN for preferred walk-ons routinely. I believe we did beat them on a player they offered a greyshirt to, that might have been Billy Turner a few years ago.

Are you talking about Turner? If so he wasn't offered anything by MN until late in the process, by that time he had been an NDSU verbal for sometime.

Kid can ball.
Doubly Awesome: #60 in that Picture blocking for Nigel...is Dominic LaFragola (sp?) who is a blocking pancacking machine. He's about 6'4 290 lb with much room to go. He will be looked to anchor's Albany's line from the Center spot for years to come.
