I think that idea got the ax because ASU did not want to have a 2-year deal and give up a home game in '13. Could be wrong though, have not heard much on that front in the last few months.

I know that App would never give up a home game, but I thought the administration was open to the idea of trading a trip to Whee for a trip to Charlotte.

After eyeballing the schedule, I can see WCU beating Mars Hill and that's it. WCU might get lucky against a SoCon team or two but that is unlikely. My advice to WCU fans is to be patient. The only way that could change is if WCU lands a game-changing transfer from a FBS league with at least two years of eligibility left.

One thing that you have to be as a WCU fan, patient... Otherwise it does look like a 1 win season which would be difficult for the new HC. Hopefully we get to play a spoiler a couple times though

App state is definetly going to be our highest attended game as usual, but it shouldn't be that hard just go through our sports website and it can tell you how to get tickets. If you come your gonna love the campus and the scenery around the stadium is arguably the best in the socon.

Whee is an absolute ****hole. The mountains are not going to impress an App fan. Especially because even the scenery is inferior to Boone. It's one of the most run down stadiums I've ever seen and the campus couldn't be more isolated. Quite possibly the worst venue in the SoCon.

That isn't the case. It is only 45 minutes from Asheville. I would much rather go to Cullowhee than quite a few places in the SoCo.

There are <5 businesses within walking distance from the campus. The mountain setting is the only thing that keeps it from becoming hell on earth.

Blah blah... To each his own. I personally don't mind the fact that it isn't crowded and all city. As for the scenery all the mountains are the same (for the most part) one of the advantages about being in the blue Appalachian mountain chain.

I've never remade a program, but one would think the first task must be to fix the defense. I'm not sure you can fix it in one season, but the Catamounts had some decent offensive talent, but their defense just made it so much more difficult to keep up in games. Hard to win when you give up over 500 yards per game.

Everyone, though, is pulling for WCU to have a renaissance. It's a tough conference, but we've seen in the past few years with a few good coaches and players, you can make any program competitive.

I agree completely that the stadium needs some work (or a lot) but I was only talking about what surrounds it. I love the mountains, plus I like having the Ramsey center right next to the endzone. App has a nice campus too but I prefered the small town feel that I got from the good ole whee and wouldn't trade it for anything.
