Alcorn State, MS-- Alcorn State University placed first-year head football coach Melvin Spears on administrative leave with pay on Monday, December 12, 2011. On the recommendation of the interim athletic director, Dr. Malvin Williams Sr., Spears was placed on leave. Alcorn will address the matter after the holidays. The University reopens on January 4, 2012.
