Running back Tim Flanders rushed 26 times for 287 yards to lead Sam Houston State into its first appearance in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game as the Bearkats defeated Montana 31-28 in front 12,367 fans in a semifinal Friday at Bowers Stadium.
