Lehigh catcher Matt McBride is a finalist for both awards: Bench for NCAA best catcher and Wallace (hear that Ralph?!!) for overall MVP.
McBride won the Patriot League Triple Crown this year batting well over .400, 53 RBI in 46 games and, I think, about 11 HR. Also had defensive rating of .991 and threw out about 35% of base stealers. Only a Junior, however, fear is he will be drafted this year and leave. Is also a local boy from Bethlehem (Liberty HS).
