Good script reading. "Undefeated all-time in home playoff games." That's nice...maybe not as much when you are talking about 4 games.

Kats by 3 touches? LOL.

Grizwald reaction...

Love the comparison of Hakeem Olajuwon not getting 1995 NBA MVP (David Robinson) to Willie Fritz getting snubbed from Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year finalists.

Those dude cheerleaders look pretty concerned. The ref looks perplexed.

Them Texas folks have no idea whats in store for them Friday night. They're going to witness a total failure in SHSU offense!

The dude's prediction ("SHSU by 3 TD's") could be right...

if Sam Houston holds the Griz entirely scoreless. Although that won't happen. I think three touchdowns is the absolute maximum this high scoring Bearkat offense can manage tomorrow. Two TD's is far more likely.

I feel bad for Sam Houston, they have a great team, yet their hopes and dreams of a Championship end this weekend.
Fear the Griz! Home or away, this Grizzly defense is a beast.

The Griz defense's record in the playoffs away from Missoula: a beastly 3-13.

Was listening to the College Football Show on Sirius XM and they were talking up the NDSU/GA Southern game. Complete with game analysis and everything, was really excited for FCS football.

I was referring to this year's Grizzly defense. They are a beast and Sam is going to find much harder sledding this weekend compared to last.

However, if you're into historical data... how does that compare with the Fighting Hen's playoff road record? I remember you winning at least one in Missoula in 1989 or so. It was among the Grizzlies first home playoff games and it was a wild and crazy one point game (49 to 48?).

If the NC is counted in this, and I think it is, 5 of those 13 losses came in the championship. Question to ANYONE having fun with that lousy GRIZ road playoff record - how many times have you lost in the national championship game? Carry on.

Not very favorably. The Hens have been much better away from home in D-I playoff games (7-10, including 3 NC losses) than have been the Griz ... not that it matters one bit.

Best of luck to your team this weekend.

This confirms for me that Jim Rome is an idiot. Sam by 3 TDs? Is he on crack?

Poor imitation of Rome. Met him in Florida. I've broadcast before on many occasions and if that's Jim Rome he's either got malaria with a hint of Pnemonia or that's a decent imitator. Just too many missed vocal inflections even with the alleged "cell phone" excuse. But funny stuff anyway!

It's Adam Clanton. A Jim Rome impersonator that is a sports radio personality in Houston.

I knew it had to be some nobody from somewhere in Texas. It seemed pretty useless analyzing a game by only talking about one of the two teams. Also, that coach of the year award that he mentioned. The finalists are chosen via fan voting. It's not anyone's fault but Sam Houston's fans that their coach wasn't in the top whatever that's needed to qualify. Also, because it is based so much off fan voting, it's not much of an award in the first place.

And local Houston NBC affiliate sports reporter... as well as a Sam Houston State alum, who used to call Bearkat hoops/football on the campus radio & TV stations, in addition to a brief stint as the PA announcer at Bowers Stadium... EAT'EM UP! :)

Ummm... you realize that Willie Fritz was far and away the top vote getter? I think he nearly doubled up on the second place vote getter, if not more than that...

They want you to vote daily... well, doesn't matter much. They told us it was part of their scoring system and we complained, since SHSU went 11-0, did several nice community service projects and the student-athletes were performing well on class, while being active participants on campus.

Our University President fired back that Willie was in line for and had already received some more prestigious coaching awards. ;)

Because of the fact that it is such a joke of an award, I hadn't paid much attention to it at all. All I knew was that fans could ridiculously vote for their coaches no matter what school they're from. I guess he didn't look good enough to the selection panel.
