This explains why half of the teams that move on to the round of eight in the 2011 Division I Football Championships are from either the Big Sky or Missouri Valley Football Conferences. They vanquished challengers from the Southern Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, and even one of their Western own from the Southland Conference to close in on the NCAA's highest football title.
