The unrestricted free agent played for the Baltimore Ravens for the past four seasons, catching 43 passes for 578 yards and four touchdowns.

Known for his athleticism and size at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Hymes played quarterback and wide receiver at Grambling. Plus, he stood out as a basketball forward and triple jumper for the track and field squad. His hands are large enough to palm a football helmet.

Hymes caught a career-high 26 passes for 323 yards and two touchdowns in 2004 when he started seven games.

Last season, he played in every game but his playing time was reduced with the acquisition of Pro Bowl wideout Derrick Mason. In 2005, Hymes started three games and caught 11 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

Grambling product Randy Hymes, with the Baltimore Ravens since 2002, is trying out for Jacksonville today. It's a chance to reunite with the fellow GSU product who originally signed him in Baltimore - James "Shack" Harris, now the Jaguars' vice president of player personnel.

A member of our GRAMBLING80, Hymes led GSU to two Southwestern Athletic Conference football championships in 2000-01 before his four-season run with the Ravens.
