.ESPN President is George Bodenheimer.
Corporate hdqtrs phone number is 860-766-2000 or (860) 766-2236. Call the president and have him explain to us why the FCS first two rounds are not viewable unless you have ESPN3.

Don't we go through this every year? And our TV numbers are not too strong to support this regardless of when they are aired. Only Montana/App St. has gotten decent recent ratings...

Hopefully these threads get combined. But the issue here is ESPN is holding the rights and not allowing local stations to pick up the games. That is what is wanted, not that ESPN themselves will show it on ESPN/2/U.

BTW, I love this sort of effort and it is a way to at least try and accomplish something other than sitting back and *****ing about it. Sign the petition or call. At least do something to let them know we are out here.

It probably won't make a whole lot of a difference but if enough people were to bug them then they at least know we are out here and unhappy with the arrangement.

I think that is the biggest beef, I agree.

Hey, we are a small group but help us make some noise please. It would only take each of you a few seconds to submit a request on the feedback form. I even went and grabbed the direct link.

Please tell them we want to see these FCS games.

C'mon FCS. So far the only school I see sending Mike and Mike an email is Montana. Don't be such pussies and step up. We aren't asking ESPN to broadcast the second round, just asking them to let the local stations broadcast them if they won't.

Don't forget to join the petition and here is the link to send Mike and Mike and email if you are on Facebook.

Couldn't get anything posted anyways even after hitting the "Enter" so I deactivated my account; to hell with all this electronic gizmo crapola; the same with games just viewed over some fly-by-night operation such as ESPN3.

ESPN sent me a response last night to my email about providing local TV access to the games...

body

Hello ,

Thank you for contacting ESPN.

The following ESPN3 providers carry ESPN3 in Montana: 3 Rivers Communications, Range Telephone Cooperative and Triangle Communications System. A full list of current affiliated providers nationwide for ESPN3 can be found by visiting http://espn.go.com/espn3/affList?device=null.

ESPN is working diligently with other providers to offer the network to as many fans as possible. Fans who do not receive their service from any of the above can call their provider and request that they offer ESPN3 to their subscribers. For CenturyLink subscribers, please call 877-348-9005. For Optimum, contact Customer Service at 866-575-8000.

This year, ESPN3 is delivering the most number of FCS Championship games ever distributed live nationally. The network is also showing games that may otherwise not have been televised, and with a nationwide audience, allows for displaced fans to now have access to their teams. For more information about ESPN3, please see below.

An utterly useless response. Thanks ESPN. The world wide leader in trying to exploit dedicated sports fans to spend more of the money they don't have in a down economy.

The last thing ESPN wants to face is perhaps not showing Card games. xlolx xazzx

Man, I can't believe this has got so many threads on these boards.

There were 3 or 4 separate threads on the CS board yesterday.

To make things short, welcome to 2011 guys, you CAN watch the game on TV - just through ESPN3. It doesn't matter if your ISP gets ESPN3 games there are other ways to get it.

www.firstrowsports.tv is one of them, think the old channelsurfing website. I've watched many games this year through that site for ESPN3 or BTN games, which are a network & site I can't get through my ISP.

Don't want to watch a game on a computer you say? Fine, the games aren't until next Saturday, go to your local Best Buy, Radio Shack, or hardware store & buy the cables you need to hook your laptop/PC feed onto your television set, it's not very difficult and the cables are cheap, less than you'd pay for a beer at a game (if they sold beer :)).

Even in Big Sky country, this is the year 2011, technology has come a long way - try using it.

It's a simple business decision. They have the rights and you want to see the games. Thus, ESPN will drive you to support their chosen platform, ESPN3, if you do indeed want to see the game. The goal of business is to success, not make buddies. Its SHOW BUSINESS not SHOW FRIENDS.

IMO you are targeting the wrong business. We need to get the NCAA to force ESPN to carry the playoff games when the NCAA negotiates their contract with ESPN. For example, you don't think CBS broadcasts the NCAA track championships because they make money on it do you? They do it so they get to air March Madness, etc.

Love that site. I watched Georgia Southern/Bama last weekend on it. I have the attachments to hook my MacBook to the TV via HDMI. Not the greatest picture in the world, and there were some buffering issues occasionally, but overall it's better than just the radio. I lived off channelsurfing.net last year when I was in Kosovo. Until Auburn started getting serious coverage and AFN picked up their games, it was the only way I could watch them. It's not perfect, but it works. I do agree with the premise behind the petition, though. I don't see what would be wrong with ESPN allowing local stations to pick up the broadcast. However, ESPN is doing it hoping that you're going to start demanding your internet provider make a deal with them for ESPN3, though. It's all about more money for them.

Yes, it's all about money. Welcome to the United States of America. Since you do not like Capitalism perhaps you should pick up camp and move north to the land of socialism in Canada. Perhaps the CBC will air your games.
