VCU might be interested in buying the property,but the city seems to be sitting on it waiting for some study to be done and see if it should be kept for sports use or other possibilities.................politics,can you imagine that?

M.I.T. plays at the D3 level and they aren't half bad some years...think about the recruiting area they cover.

I think you are correct,but another AA baseball team came to town-the Flying Squirrels and may have squashed those plans.City Stadium is a dump and needs a lot of work,so we will see,but VCU could = ODU if given a chance.

Northeastern dropped their program because they played in the worst stadium in the subdivision. Boston U dropped football because of John Silber, plain and simple.

Depends on what happens this month with the selection of the new president. If Noland or Frank, odds are better than even that ETSU would resuscitate football from the dead within the next five years. If Patterson-Randles, not so much.

Why not Wichita State? They already have the stadium (http://www.flickr.com/photos/historian77/sets/72157604090822146/), they have had a successful team before, and they would be in a decent location with limited competition. All they would have to do is buy some helmets, suit up a few students, and they could have a team tomorrow. It almost makes too much sense for them to bring football back.

Love to see the Shockers back on the field, our victory over them in the '61 Sun Bowl was one of the greatest wins in program history, one of our only 2 bowl wins. I'd love to take another crack at them

I'd like to see Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (SIUe) introduce football. They have a club team, they are located right outside of St. Louis, and already have a stadium that could be set-up for football. Korte Stadium is FieldTurf and is used for their soccer teams. I think the lack of a football is holding the university back...

Wright State recently started a club team and there has been talk of instituting it as a university sport.

Coppin State, George Mason, and Virginia Commonwealth all started club teams and formed a conference this past year (the Mid Atlantic Conference) along with Longwood University.
