Alabama State rallied from 12-point second-half deficit but could not hang on as a late Southern touchdown with nine seconds remaining gave the Jaguars a 26-23 win. Despite the loss, Alabama State (7-3 overall, 7-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) is still in contention for the SWAC Eastern Division title.
